Your dog's posture tells a whole story about their muscular health

As a Galen Myotherapy trained Foundation Posture Analyst, I critically examine & visually assess your dog's posture and signs of loading on their body.
Through this assessment, I share valuable insights about your dog's physical and psychlogical health.
Dogs are *really* good at hiding pain!
Dogs are highly adaptable and often learn to live with low-grade or chronic pain without showing obvious signs of discomfort. Dogs adjust with and manage their pain with compensation.
For example, if a dog has a sore leg, they may shift weight onto another leg or adjust their posture to avoid putting pressure on the painful area. This compensatory behavior can make it less obvious that something is wrong.
How a dog sits, stands, places their feet, squats, shakes off - all of this tells us about possible discomfort and overloading they might be carrying on their body.

How do you assess posture visually?
For your dog's postural assessment, you send me a list of photos that I then analyse based on:
-
Head and neck carriage
-
Tail carriage
-
Topline
-
Foot position in relation to each other
-
Foot placement on the ground (lateral/medial deviation)
-
Symmetry of body
-
Toe and nail length and position
-
Muscle symmetry
I analyse your dog's posture, put together a report and list of recommendations to share with you and that you can share with your vet/physical therapist.
You get a detailed report on your dog's postural assessment that you can then share with your vet or therapist to help your dog with a rehab/physical therapy plan.
Please note that this is a postural assessment and not a diagnosis. Only medical professionals can diagnose your dog.
How does the assessment work?
Foundational Posture Analysis
This where you send me a required list of photos of your dog for me to analyse their posture. I'll share sample photos as well as guidance on how to take the photos.
Please note that if I don't get accurate photos or need more photos, I will be reaching out for those.
Report & Recommendations
Based on my analysis, I put together a report detailing out signs of overloading and postural changes that I can see on your dog. This is put together in a format that you can then share with your vet or physical therapist for further support.
The report also includes recommendations on home adjustments and activities (and resources) to include in your dog's daily life to improve posture. This will be an integral part of your dog's rehab plan.
Lifetime access to Functional Movement Exercises course
As part of the assessment, you also get lifetime access to the Functional Movement Exercise mini-course with videos, resources and updated content on strengthening your dog's muscular system holistically.
This course is available ONLY as part of the assessment.
Once you have access to the report, you have can choose to book an OPTIONAL 30-mins call to discuss the assessment & recommendations.

AFTER

The simple action of elevating the bowl to a more comfortable height brought about such a positive difference to the dog's posture and how she was physically adapting her body.
This is where postural assessments can help - even though the client did the right thing by elevating the bowl, the elevation wasn't right for her dog.
As part of the assessment, you get:
🗒️ A detailed report outlining postural changes and signs of overloading on your dog
🗒️ Recommendations on home adjustments and activities for myofascial enhancing and posture improvement
🗒️ OPTIONAL 30-mins call discussion on report & activities
🗒️ Lifetime access to a mini course on Functional Movement Exercises for Dogs (with videos, resources and more to help your dog improve their muscle strength)
